On-site shredding

If your organisation needs confidential material destroyed at its premises, ask us about an on-site shredding visit. This may help when your policy calls for a member of staff to witness destruction or when you are coordinating a planned office or IT clearance. Tell us what you have and where you are; we will confirm what can be done at your site before you book.

What can an on-site visit cover?

Start with a clear list of the materials: hard drives or other data-bearing storage, confidential paper, or a mix of both. The equipment and method needed can differ by material. For drives, tell us whether they are loose or still fitted inside laptops, desktops or servers. For paper, estimate the number of boxes or bags. We will confirm which materials can be handled during the proposed visit and whether drive removal is included.

See our separate pages for hard drive shredding and confidential paper shredding if you are deciding what to include.

Witnessing and your internal controls

If someone from your team must witness destruction, say so when you enquire. Also tell us whether you need to check serial numbers against an inventory, have a particular person sign off the handover, or keep different departments' material separate. We will confirm the practical arrangement for your job. Witnessing the work does not replace a clear record of what was handed over and what documentation will be supplied.

Planning access to your premises

Include your postcode, approximate quantity and any access restrictions. Useful details include loading or parking arrangements, delivery hours, steps or lifts, and whether the material is stored in several areas of the building. If the job involves a busy office, school or other controlled site, let us know who will coordinate access. The location, volume and site conditions may affect availability and the quote.

Agree the paperwork before booking

Tell us if you need a Certificate of Destruction, a handover record, serial number capture or other information for your audit. We will confirm the documentation available and what it will identify before the work is scheduled. Our guide to destruction records can help you decide what to request.

When off-site collection may suit the job

An on-site visit may not be practical for every postcode, material, volume or location. In those cases, ask about secure collection for off-site destruction. We can discuss your witnessing, handover and documentation requirements so you can compare the options against your policy.

Request an on-site shredding quote

Send your postcode, the materials and approximate quantities, whether drives are installed in equipment, your access details and any witnessing or paperwork requirements. We will confirm the scope and availability before you book.
